Neil Craig – a brief ponder, and the Pride Cup results
Neil Craig quit today as Adelaide’s coach. It took a 103-point loss to St Kilda to prove to Craig his time was up, after seven years in charge. Adelaide missed the finals last season for the first time in five years.
Former Australian captain Ian Chappell is a sage. When asked about retirement, Chappell was unequivocal. ‘You want people to ask why did you retire, instead of why haven’t you retired,’ Chappell said.
Craig was asked about his tenure at the end of 2010. He vowed to coach on, to help build Adelaide’s list and improve the club.
