The curse is dead – long live the curse
The weekend had a different feel to it. It was all about Russ, as it usually is when he comes up. I arranged for mates to share the joy, a double header weekend.
It was Russ that made the difference. He refused to talk about North losing. He refused to discuss The Curse even though everyone else wanted to.
Russ toasts a win for Boomer, and breaks the curse...
Brisbane Lions a cinch to win
Forget about ladder positioning and form. Forget about injuries and game plans and favouritism. Forget about Brent Harvey’s milestone match. Brisbane defeating North Melbourne on Saturday night is a dead set certainty.
The Curse is back in town. His presence brings a dread I’ve not felt since the last time he was in Brisbane. And the time before that, and every other time The Curse has been here.
