Doug Gott – deep connections to football
Football was in the blood. His Mum’s side of the family. Doug Gott was 12, riding his bike up Victoria Road to Northcote Park Football Club in 1962 for his first year of club football. He was tall for his age, rangy with a loping stride.
Graham Carbery – a man who stood up
Former VFL boundary umpire, Graham Carbery, died on Wednesday after a long illness. Carbery umpired 145 VFL games, including five finals. He loved umpiring. His career was different to every boundary umpire in AFL/AFL history.
